Demolition Derby
Sunday May 18, 2008 Dresden Fair Grounds

NO CHILDREN TO BE ALLOWED IN PIT AREA AT ANY TIME!!

TRACK RULES:
1. The decision of the officials in any and all matters concerning the demolition derby are final..
2. All the drivers must attend the drivers meeting prior to derby, at 6:00 P.M. near the tote-board.
3. Safety belts and street approved helmets are mandatory. The driver must wear coveralls
and safety glasses or helmet with shield at all times while in the demo car.
4. Drivers may maneouver forward and backwards. NO DELIBERATE HEAD-ON COLLISIONS
OR HITTING THE DRIVERS DOOR DELIBERATELY. THIS MAY LEAD TO DISQUALIFICATION.
5. You must stay in your car. Do not leave your car unless you are told to do so by an official and the red flag has been displayed. Leaving your car during the heat gets you disqualified.
6. In the event of a roll-over, stay off the track. A car that rolls over is disqualified. Pit crews may not assist a car that has been rolled over or has left the driving area during the heat.
7. If a driver does not hit another live car within 1 and 1/2 minutes time limit, he/she will be disqualified.
8. Playing possum or (sandbagging) will get you disqualified.
9. Any car visibly leaking gas will get disqualified.
10. Two carburetor fires and you're out. One major fire and you're out.
11. No car is allowed on the track prior to the heat in which he is to participate.
12. A heat winner MUST drive the same car in the MAIN FEATURE that he/she won in his/her winning heat.
13. At the start of the heat you are to hit the car across from you first only. If there is no car across from you, you are to back up with the other cars (hitting no one). Sitting back and hitting your neighbour first will get you disqualified.
14. Pits are open at 2:00 P.M. All entries are on a first come first serve basis.
15. NO ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER 6:00 p.m.
16. BOUNDARIES MUST BE OBSERVED, LEAVING THE BOUNDARIES WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION.
17. No alcohol in the pit area. ( AREA IS PATROLLED )
18. Any car in FINAL HEAT is not eligible for CONSOLATION.
19. Car winning the FINAL is subject to another inspection.
20. There is absolutely NO WHINING tolerated. JUDGES DECISIONS ARE FINAL!
21. Drivers meeting at 6:00 p.m. All drivers and track crew MUST attend. Decisions made at drivers meeting over-rule all other rules and are final.
22. Any of the final three (3) cars in any heat will be pulled apart if become locked together, only amongst themselves.

DRIVER'S ENTRY
1. Driver MUST have a valid driver's license and prove upon request.
2. Each driver must have an entry form made out completely and all drivers and their pit crews must sign the liability waiver.
3. The Society reserves the right to approve or reject any entries.
4. Only owners, drivers, mechanics etc. who have signed the liability waiver release sheet will be permitted in the pit area or in the demo area. NO ONE UNDER THE AGE OF 16 WILL BE PERMITTED IN THE PIT AREA.
5. Members and entrants of the derby are not employees of the Society, but are considered to be independent contractors.
6. Any driver or pit crew not obeying the rules will cause his car to be disqualified.
7. THE DRIVER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ACTIONS OF PIT CREW AND ANY ONE CONNECTED WITH HIS ENTRY.
8. The use of alcoholic beverages or drugs prior to or during the show by the driver or the pit crew will disqualify the cars entry. The driver and crew will be removed from the grounds.
9. All drivers must obey the flagman and officials. Memorize the flags and know what they mean.

RED FLAG..................STOP
BLACK FLAG................DISQUALIFIED
GREEN FLAG................GO
CHECKERED FLAG............WINNER

10. In the event of more than ten (10) cars in the CONSOLATION HEAT, The Society reserves the right to divide the field into two heats. The WINNER of each consolation heat can go to the FINAL.
11. The Society will not be held responsible for any cars, parts or personal property before, during or after the show. All cars must be stripped down before entering the grounds. All parts removed from demo car must be removed from the grounds.

CAR AND SAFETY RULES
1. Any North American made front engine, hard-top automobile or station wagon is allowed. Cars are limited to 1980 and newer.
EXCEPT CHRYSLER IMPERIALS. NO Truck, Jeep, Hearse, Carry-all, Taxi etc.
2.. All the glass must be removed, including the windshield. Safety goggles or glasses must be worn at all times by the driver.
3. The auto must be swept clean.
4. All the chrome stripping and the mirrors must be removed from the car.
5. One bar can be used in the driver's side door, but is not required. *NO ROLL CAGES*
6. Flat plate ONLY may be applied to outside of car. Drivers door only - 1/4" thick - no wider than 12" and no longer than 72". May be bolted or welded..
7. Due to the failure of hinges in most late model cars, the hood must be securely fastened in 4 points. A chain, cable or bar is required from the roof of the car to the dashboard in the wind-shield area centered, so as to prevent the hood from entering the drivers compartment if it breaks loose. HOOD MUST BE OPERABLE. IT MAY NOT BE WELDED.
8. No special bumpers, trailer hitches will be allowed. Bumper hitch must be completely removed.
9. All the other doors must be fastened shut by wire, straps or welded.The tailgate of a station wagon must be secured or removed so that it will not come open during the heat.
10. Trunk lids must be secured or removed so as not to spring open and impair the drivers vision during the heat. You may weld the trunk. If you elect to use chain you may not wrap the chain through the trunk to the frame. (That would be considered reinforcement)
11. The welding of front rad saddle and welding or rear saddle from body mounts outwards are permitted.
12. Cutting the fenders and bumpers for wheel clearance is permitted.
13. The removal of fenders or any major body components is not allowed.
14. Batteries to be moved to passenger side in the car. Batteries must be securely fastened and covered with a suitable shield.
15. A 10-12 inch hole must be cut in the hood over the carburetor, in case of fire.
16. All the cars must have brakes before and during the heats.
17. No spring jacks, air bags, air shocks or blocked shocks, Suspensions must be free of any blocks.
18.. No split or Welded rims.
19. Wheel weights must be removed. No fluid in tires.
20. Entrants are encouraged to decorate their cars in any manner within the limits of good taste.
THE DRIVER'S DOOR ONLY MUST BE PAINTED WHITE AND CONTAIN NO ADVERTISING. This area is only for the numbering. IF CAR IS ALL WHITE SURROUND THE DRIVER'S DOOR WITH A DARKER COLOUR TO SET IT OFF. Absolutely no hanging of foreign objects on cars i.e. flags or dolls.
21. Numbers will be painted on the cars as they enter the pit. Consideration will be given to special numbers on a first come first serve basis. Mark your preference on your application.
22. We do suggest that when it is necessary to cut a hole in the floor for a shifter, that you cover that hole with a floor mat. This reduces the chance of fire in the drivers compartment.
23. The use of an auxiliary tank is mandatory, the original tank must be completely removed.
24. The auxiliary tank must be of sturdy construction and placed in the centre of where the rear seat was over the drive shaft.
25. No more than (3) gallons of fuel at one time is allowed. The fuel tank must have a suitable cover.
26. Additional safety rules may be stipulated at entry time. The decision of the officials is final.
27. Radiator must remain in the original position of the car. Radiator must be comprised of original equipment as in North American made automobiles. Transmission coolers must be placed under the hood.
28. The electrical system must remain under the hood except for the battery and the solenoid.
29. The back seat and the complete interior must be removed from the car. All but the front driver's seat and the dash board should be removed. THE INTERIOR IS A FIRE HAZZARD AND NO CAR WILL BE ALLOWED TO ENTER WITH IT STILL IN THE CAR.
30. Each car must include a FIRE EXTINGUISHER attached securely to the car within easy reach of the driver.
31. Fuel injected cars may move the original gas tank into the back seat. It must be well secured
with leak proof fittings and have a fire proof shield. It must also have a safety toggle swith for fuel pump.
32. Roll bar may be used behind the drivers seat, but not attached to the frame.

BEGINNERS STOCK CAR APPEARING CLASS

1. Door reinforcement only.
2. Driver's seat reinforcement and windshield deflector allowed by not mandatory.
3. No other reinforcement of any kind.
4. All stock parts only.
5. All glass, plastic, chrome and mirrors removed.
6. All other safety rules applied.

PROTESTING: If a driver has a viable protest, it will be dealt with after preliminary heat by track officials before the consolation heat.

DUE TO INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS - ALL PEOPLE OTHER THAN THE REGISTERED PIT CREW MEMBERS MUST VACATE THE PIT AREA BY 5 PM THIS WILL BE ENFORCED!!!!!!
